Tom is a postdoc and is interested in understanding lung epithelial stem cells and regeneration. Generally, he is asking something like:
- How/why/where do stem cells regenerate new cells (including new stem cells) in the lung?
- How/why/where are there regenerative signaling pathways or cellular processes specific to injury or disease vs "normal wear and tear"?
- How/why/where do stem cells contribute to disease as opposed to functional regeneration?
- How/why/where does disease impact stem cells?
